The City of Amsterdam wants to ensure future-proof management and maintenance of the integral road tunnel system, and has therefore launched the Aanpak Wegtunnels Amsterdam programme. Within this programme, three tunnels and the traffic control centre are being tackled. The municipality has commissioned Tunnel Engineering Consultants (TEC, a permanent partnership of Royal HaskoningDHV and Witteveen+Bos) to support them in this in the coming years. TEC has engaged Infranea as a partner for support in terms of BIM, 3D design and the development of Digital Tunnel Twins.
To complete the project, Infranea provided support in working out the As-Built drawings. The main part of the work consisted of processing the measurements for Hoogwatergeul Ooijen, Hoogwatergeul Wanssum and Dijkring Broekhuizenvorst into a 3D model. The 3D model was then represented in longitudinal profiles and an overview drawing.
Construction of the world's longest immersed tunnel has begun. The 18 km-long combined road and rail tunnel between Germany and Denmark will be 9 metres high and 43 metres wide and will promote trade and tourism in northern Europe. A factory is being built on the Danish side for the 200-metre-long precast concrete tunnel elements, which will be immersed to form the permanent link between Denmark's Lolland Falster region and the German state of Schleswig-Holstein.
