Project description

Old Maasarm:
To allow the Old Maasarm to flow again, a number of dykes will be removed and high spots will be additionally deepened or excavated and the bottle neck near the Brugstraat in Wanssum will also be lifted.

High-water channels:
To realise high-water channels, 1.8 million m3 of soil will be excavated at Ooijen (on an area of some 120 football pitches, an average of between 1 and 3 m will be excavated). In Wanssum, between 0 and 2 m will be excavated on an area of some 170 football pitches.

Our approach

To complete the project, Infranea provided support in working out the As-Built drawings. The main part of the work consisted of processing the measurements for Hoogwatergeul Ooijen, Hoogwatergeul Wanssum and Dijkring Broekhuizenvorst into a 3D model. The 3D model was then represented in longitudinal profiles and an overview drawing.

In addition, the landscaping elements and the green-blue structure were represented in separate AB drawings. Finally, support was provided to complete the final peripheral drawing work.

It was cool to join in the final phase of this large-scale area development project through Infranea. The confidence gained to contribute to developing the As-Built drawings into 3D models led to a great result.
